Canvas prints are printed directly on fine art canvas using archival inks. The initial canvas size is increased (typically mirrored) on all edges to allow the canvas to be wrapped around a wooden stretcher frame of 1.5 inch depth. This allows the full image to be displayed on the face of the canvas and continued around top, bottom, and both sides. Canvas prints become true pieces of art in ways closely resembling paintings and are in fact many times mistaken for paintings. As with our prints on fine art papers canvas prints maintain the highest quality in detail and sharpness that has come to be expected in all our prints.
Many times matting and framing can equal or exceed the cost of a print. Canvas "gallery wraps" do not need framing. They have a protective finish, hanging hardware, are very light weight, can compliment any decor, and will arrive as a complete ready to hang piece of artwork. If framing is desired gallery wrapped canvas may be framed. Frames are available for all canvas gallery wraps.
I will also mention canvas prints are available as prints only un-stretched. Referred to as rolled canvas since they are shipped rolled like paper prints. These rolled canvas prints may be mounted and framed for a traditional framed look.
Please inquire if you are interested in framed canvas gallery wraps or rolled canvas prints.
